Frequently asked questions
Do prices include stamping and mailing?
Yes. All of our postcards and letters include postage and are mailed directly to your prospects, unless otherwise noted in the product description.
Do I need a list before ordering?
No, you can place your order first — but you must send us your list as soon as possible. We cannot hold jobs for weeks waiting on lists. Your list needs to be provided within a reasonable timeframe after ordering so production can stay on schedule. Also note: we do not refund if you overestimate your quantity and order more than the list you provide.
Will I get to see a proof before printing?
Yes. In most cases, you’ll see your proof inside checkout before completing your order. If your cart doesn’t show that option, our team will email you a proof for approval before printing.
Can I bring my own designs?
Yes. You can submit your own designs. Email hello@ballpointmarketing.com to coordinate. If you’d like creative feedback or layout help, book a free strategy session.
Can I change the copy?
Yes. Our default templates are proven to perform, but you’re welcome to request changes. Just keep in mind that postcards work best at around 35 words or less, while letters allow for more copy.
What’s the difference between Pre-Sorted and First-Class postage?
Pre-Sorted is more cost-effective, but slower and less prioritized by USPS. First-Class is faster and often feels more personal. For First-Class letters, we bulk-ship the printed letters to you, and you drop them off at your local post office to get local stamps.
What’s the difference between one-off mailers and sequences?
One-off mailers are single campaigns — you send a batch, and that’s it. Sequences are a series of mailers (usually 6–7) scheduled over time to keep your message in front of prospects consistently. Sequences are billed monthly on autopay, and each batch is mailed automatically.
Do you offer bulk discounts?
Yes. Each (but not all) product has its own discount tiers based on volume. Larger drops mean lower cost per piece.
What is your refund and cancellation policy?
There are no refunds once an order is placed or a batch is in production. For sequences or subscriptions on autopay, you may cancel anytime — just notify us at least 10 days before your next billing date.
What kind of response rates should I expect?
Results vary by market, list quality, and mailer type. We typically see response rates between 0.5% and 2%. The key to success is volume and consistency. For example, sending 1,000 postcards at a 0.5% response rate would generate about 5 calls.
